09 gamblers held, stake money over one lac recovered in Anantnag | KNO

Police has arrested nine gamblers and recovered stake money over a lac in Anantnag district of South Kashmir.

  Police has arrested nine gamblers and recovered stake money over a lac in Anantnag district of South Kashmir.

 

Following a tip off, a police party headed by SHO Police Station Anantnag, Shri Syed Ayaz Geelani under the supervision of DySP headquarter, Shri Liyakat Ali Khan raided  a gambling site   near Mehandi Kadel, Anantnag. In the raid nine gamblers identified as Aadil Ahmad Wani, Farooq Ahmad Malik,  Abdul  Rashid Bhat, Bashir Ahmad Wani,   Irshad Ahmad Tramboo, Shahnawaz Ahmad Khan, Bashir Ahmad Palla,  Akthar Najar and Ajaz Ahmad Nanda were arrested. A stake money of Rupees 1,06760 was recovered from the gambling site.

A case FIR number 01/2017  under section 13 Gambling act has been registered against these gamblers and investigation has been taken up.
